18K Wounded Heart Pendant

Some things in life just make a gaping hole right through us, yet we can mend and move on. When I was making this piece I was interested in the contrast between a delicate, subtle surface texture and the powerful symbolism of the wounded heart. The patches spanning the wound are hand engraved with wood grain detail. This wounded heart pendant necklace makes a statement in rich, buttery 18K gold.
